Oatly is running a series of ads based on the strapline, ‘Need help talking to dad about milk’, and the question is, is it designed to cause offence?
They wouldn’t be the first brand to go out of their way to court controversy as a way of generating PR.
And from The Metro:
As a child of an alcoholic these adverts (there’s more than one) do mock the seriousness of alcoholism & will continue to make children of alcoholics feel isolated & that their deep trauma is a joke. Really poor taste by Oatly especially when drinking is at an all time high.
